Introduction: The Compare & Contrast Essay is to describe the similarities and differences of two relevant subjects. This essay aims to contrast the health way and dangerous way to losing weight and informs readers appropriate approaches of getting slime.


Currently, slenderness tends to be a new aesthetic. However, according to a research in US, two billion people worldwide are now overweight or obese (“30 percent”). Therefore, finding an efficacious way to lose weight is necessary. There are two types of approaches to reduce fat: one healthy and the other dangerous. Many fatties choose the latter one on account of its efficiency although it is harmful and expensive. Conversely, experts recommend for healthy methods which are beneficial and inexpensive even if it requires a long term.

This essay is going to contrast two this kinds of methods of losing weight in three aspects: the length of the course for obesity getting addressed, the total expense and different effect on humans ‘body.

First of all, healthy methods of reducing fat request a long period of time while dangerous ones are quicker and more efficient. According to helpguide.org, a scientific way of losing weight requires an appropriate diet. It includes “fruits and vegetables”, “beans”, “whole grains” and avoids much “sugar” and “refined carbs” (“Healthy Weight “). If a porker want to lose weight healthily, he or she is supposed to follow that diet for months or years. It is to say, “food environment” should be controlled when losing weight (“Healthy Weight”). Additionally, good life habits are needed for weight loss. For instance, having enough sleep helps a lot. It is because that less sleep can enlarge the sense of hunger and let fatties eat more food. (“Healthy Weight”). However, instilling good habits needs a long process. In the tandem with this, effect of good habits usually is not obvious in a short term. What’s more, the healthiest method to be slim is to exercise. Keeping sports one hour per day can directly decrease fat in the body. However, it should be kept for months or over.

In contrast, dangerous methods such as only drinking water every day can lose weight rapidly. In addition, some “diet pills” (“Teens use”) and experiments like liposuction can make a good figure in a short time. In addition, unscientific approaches cost much money while healthy ways spend a little even nothing. Firstly, it is not hard to get a balanced diet. All the nutrition that the body needs is from common and inexpensive food. Additionally, there are many public gyms and sports parks that are for free. Therefore, going exercise do not need any charge. Last but not least, taking actions is more important thing when losing weight instead of using expensive tools. It won’t be successful with only plan or money. Therefore, healthy approaches are always cheaper than dangerous ones. By comparison, unhealthy ways cost more. It is because that “diet pills” (“Teens use”) or experiments are at high price. Additionally, in order to get large profit, many “Pinocchios” from medicine companies usually mislead their customers so that they purchase plenty of useless products. Therefore, many fatties waste their money because of such appealing pitfall.

Last but not least, the effect of two approaches on human’s body are obviously different. Keeping healthy ways to lose weight can bring an amount of benefits. For example, a healthy diet usually gets rid of high blood sugar so that it can avoid some common diseases like diabetes (“Healthy Weight”). Moreover, exercise can not only keep health but also release the pressure from work or life. It increases the excitement in body and bring a high spirit as well. Furthermore, healthy life style can bring a real beauty and increase the self-confidence. It is because the effect of healthy way can last for a long time and do not rely on tools. Conversely, dangerous methods spoil human’s body. If a fatty want to lose weight by eating nothing, as a consequence, he or her will become “chopsticks” for losing all the elements and nutrition that the body needs. In additions, drugs and pills affect bodies negatively which ruin human’s body systems in a long run. Furthermore, it is unwise for some teenagers to “smoke cigarettes” (“teens use”) in order to reduce fat quickly because cigarettes are the cruelest killers to the lung. What’s more, the effect of the quick methods cannot keep for long. If a fatty stop eating pills or having experiments, fat will return to his or her body. It is to say, the body become to depend on medical treatment and losing the function of adjusting itself automatically.

To sum up, healthy methods of losing weight can not only help to keep a good figure but also benefit human’s health. In comparison, dangerous approaches such as liposuction crab amount of money as well as spoiling human’s body. Therefore, it is vital to have a scientific plan to lose weight. However, more beauty-strivers carry out the dangerous methods of lack of professional advices. Therefore, Fatties, especially some overweighed adolescents, are supposed to consult professionals instead of having a silly try. In a conclusion, it is a wise choice to embrace healthy diet or exercise and say goodbye to pills or experiments.
